Tampa Palms Crunch

healthy living tips essay

Although I've tried a few different gyms in Tampa and other areas, Crunch Fitness in The Palms is my favorite. It costs only $10 to join, but the gym gets crowded during midday. The management is poor and the equipment is out of date. The management and staff of the fitness center are also very poor. Ultimately, I gave it a 1 star rating out of 5.

Zoo

One of Florida’s most visited attractions is The Zoo At Tampa Palms Crunch. The Zoo's African-inspired African Ziraffe exhibit is a great attraction for the whole family. Safari enthusiasts will love the giraffe display. The zookeepers offer many new experiences to their guests who are looking for something different. These include a close-up look at endangered white rhinoceros and the African lion.

What's the difference between Aerobic Fitness & Anaerobic Fitness, and how can you tell?

Anaerobic fitness refers to the ability of our bodies to perform intense physical work without oxygen. During periods of high-intensity exercise, we use anaerobic pathways to provide enough energy to complete the task. Anaerobic pathways are glycolysis, creatinephosphate and the phosphagen.

Aerobic fitness, however, refers to the continuous practice of low-intensity aerobic exercise. Aerobic exercise is a form of aerobic exercise in which oxygen is the primary fuel source for the cells. In other words, the aerobic pathway provides more energy than the anaerobic pathway.

To run a marathon you need to first increase your aerobic capacity. If you concentrate on building your anaerobic capability, you won’t be able complete the race.

Aerobic fitness also refers to cardiovascular fitness. The most common methods of determining cardiovascular fitness are step tests and VO2max testing.

Tests for VO2 Max

VO2max is the maximum oxygen (O2) that your body can use while exercising. This test measures the amount O2 that the body can use when exercising.

This is one of the most accurate tests to measure cardiovascular fitness. This test requires expensive equipment, and highly qualified professionals to administer.

Step Tests

Step tests are simple yet effective methods of measuring cardiovascular fitness. Based on your age and weight, they involve running or walking on a track or treadmill for a specified time.

These tests are simple to perform, cost-effective, and easily accessible from almost any location. You could, for instance, run on a treadmill for two minutes, rest for one minute, and then go back to the starting point for 20 minutes. Throughout the session your heart rate should not exceed a specified range.

This method is known as the "Bruce Protocol". Bruce, himself a runner developed this protocol when he realized his heart rate didn't rise when he ran long distances.
