CrossFit Games 2021 is nearing and many participants are excited. Along with the usual CrossFit Games competitions like those for men, there will also be events for women. We have all heard about the women's competition, the Pegboard contest, the Cutting system, and Reebok's equipment, but do you know what to expect? Keep reading to find the answer! CrossFit News Page: Keep an eye out for news updates regarding the competition
Competition for women
The swim event was the start of the women's division at the 2021 Crossfit Games. Jonne and Tia Claire Toomey-Orr won the first competition. After maintaining her lead throughout competition, Koski was declared the overall winner. Tall and Eramooo O’Connell came second and three respectively. It was the first Games women's event and the women hoped to complete it.
The field is full of top-level athletes in the women's competition. Nine athletes are represented in the field, including a young Australian powerhouse who won last year's competition. Kara Saunders (Australian athlete) finished second in Australia. She was also eleventh worldwide for 2020. Andrea Nisler was also a rising star. In 2018, she competed in team division and came in third in the United States. She finished fifteenth in 2020. These athletes will be joined by Sara Sigmundsdottir from Iceland, who was awarded the first place medal at the World Crossfit Games earlier in the year.
Pegboard contest
Pegboard at Crossfit Games 2020 was a first. It was added to Crossfit Games' summer Olympic program alongside double-unders & dumbbell overhead Squats. Toomey-Orr held the record for most Games wins with 30. Sager won Event 11 men's and received his third Games win. There were many ties throughout the contest, but ToomeyOrr was the dominant force that won the contest.

CrossFit Games training involves focusing on ten basic physical fitness skills: endurance, strength flexibility power speed and agility. Pegboard is a contest that tests competitor's grip strength as well as coordination. Competitors hold two wooden pegs between each hand and compete to win. After completing the Pegboard, the competition was intense and athletes felt a sense of accomplishment.
Cutting system
CrossFit Games will again use a cutting method for individual competition. While it's not as extreme or drastic as in previous Games, this year is very different. There are 15 events in the competition, so it is possible that 30 athletes will be cut after the eighth or seventh event. Another question remains: how will CrossFit adjust the points spread following cuts? The scoring system used in 2019 was virtually identical to the 2021 one, so it is probable that this will continue.
This year's CrossFit Games Field includes 236 athletes. This is the largest field in its history. The six first events lead to major cuts. The field then drops to 75 athletes. The top 30 finishers compete in a sprint pairt to determine who is the top ten. From there, the top twenty athletes compete in the six remaining events. Castro's system was criticised by veteran Games participants, who felt that the cuts were too significant.
Reebok's equipment
Reebok has released new CrossFit Games shoes, clothing and equipment. The Nano X1 is the new shoe. They are built to accommodate multiple fitness needs. Reebok claims this shoe is "the shoe that will fit all your fitness needs," but it's more like a regular training shoe. DuPont’s Kevlar material is used to make the upper of this shoe, which promotes breathability as well as durability. The firm midsole and RopePro tech enhance the responsiveness of the shoes.

Reebok's contract with CrossFit will end at the end of 2020, and the Games will be without a title sponsor. Reebok has sponsored the Games for more than a decade. It is now evident that their involvement in the Games will decrease. Reebok will no longer sponsor the Games' prize money, but it will continue to manufacture all the athletic apparel and equipment used by athletes, including the Reebok gear. The company won't refer to itself as "Reebok crossfit games" anymore.

Yes. Alcohol can increase energy expenditure and speed up recovery, as well as reduce soreness.
It also increases insulin sensitivity. This makes it easier and faster to absorb glucose.
However, alcohol can cause dehydration, which can slow down your metabolism. Alcohol can also lower testosterone production, which could lead to a decrease in muscle-building potential.
It is important that women refrain from drinking alcohol before they exercise. Women who are heavily alcoholic should wait at minimum 24 hours before starting to work out.
Women who are nursing should avoid alcohol as much as possible.
Men should have no more than one drink per day.
Is it true, that too much protein can cause kidney stones?
Protein helps maintain healthy bones and tissue. However, too much protein can result in calcium excretion through the urine. In turn, this can result in kidney stones.
Not everyone who eats more than 2g of protein per kilogram (2.2 lbs) of bodyweight will get kidney stones. High amounts of protein can be consumed by some people without causing kidney stones.
By watching how much sodium you consume, kidney stones can be prevented. Sodium is important for maintaining the body's water balance. Too much sodium can lead to kidney stones.
You may also want to reduce your protein intake in the event of kidney stones. Protein provides about half of the daily caloric needs for most adults. You'll lose weight if you reduce your intake of protein.
If you do decide to eat more protein, don't go overboard. Aim for less than 20% of total calories from protein.

What nutrients does a man require daily?
Men need healthy growth and development. The body requires vitamins, minerals, proteins, carbohydrates, fats, water, fiber, and other essential elements.
Males also require specific nutrients at certain times of the day. You can see that your body uses energy to make hormones. When you get up, protein is used to repair and build muscle.
Your body will burn fat at night and store the extra energy as a form of glycogen. Your body still requires sufficient nutrients and calories even though it needs less calories. You can have a snack at night if you feel hungry.
To fuel your muscles while you train, you will need sufficient carbs as well as protein. You may feel sore muscles if you exercise hard.
To prevent this from happening, you need to consume carbs or protein within two hours. To provide energy, your body will begin to break down stored glycogen.
Also, protein must be consumed immediately after your workouts. This prevents muscle tissue from being broken down while you are sleeping.
Your body can produce lactic acid during intense physical activity. It is a form of lactic acid that builds up in the bloodstream. This causes fatigue. You can avoid this by eating carbohydrates-rich foods like fruits and veggies.
Carbohydrates give your body the energy it needs to recover from strenuous exercise.
Additionally, lean meats, fish and eggs, dairy products, yogurt, cream, cheese, yogurt and beans can be added to your diet.
All of these foods contain high-quality protein. Protein promotes muscle growth and repairs damaged tissues. It provides amino acids that your body needs in order to produce sexhormones and testosterone.
For healthy skin, hair and joints, it is important to eat enough fats. Healthy men require between 20% and 35% of total caloric intake from fat.
Fat helps keep your heart strong and protects against cancer. It also keeps your brain functioning properly.
Vegetable oils, such as olive oil, sunflower oil or corn oil, soybean oil and peanut oil, can supply most of the fats you require.
These oils are rich in monounsaturated essential fatty acids (MUFAs). MUFAs reduce cholesterol and inflammation. They protect your cells from damage by free radicals.
Saturated fats (SFAs) are found mostly in animal products like meat, dairy products, and butter. SFAs increase LDL ("bad") cholesterol, and increase triglycerides. They promote weight gain and abdominal fat.
Plant-based fats such as vegetable oils, seeds, nuts and grains contain polyunsaturated (PUFAs). PUFAs can improve cardiovascular function and reduce inflammation. They are also good for controlling blood sugar and cholesterol.
Men with low HDL ("good") cholesterol often suffer from erectile dysfunction. The consumption of saturated fats raises bad cholesterol which in turn lowers good cholesterol.
Men who eat large quantities of red meats or pork may develop prostate problems. When cooked at high temperatures, nitrates can be converted to nitrosamines. These compounds can cause lung cancer.
Most processed meats have nitrites and harmful chemicals. Avoid them.
The American Heart Association suggests that no more than two servings per week of red meat should be consumed. Instead, choose poultry or fish, beans, tofu and whole grain bread.
